Guidelines for abstract submission

The Spanish Society of Pharmacology (SEF) meeting is a unique event for pharmacologists to present emerging Science on drugs and drug development. SEF invites you to submit your abstract for the Congress. Please, read carefully the following points before submitting your abstract:

  • Only abstracts sent in the meeting abstract form will be considered.
  • Check one of the Main Topics listed in page 2 of the abstract form.
  • All abstracts must be submitted only through the e-mail socesfar@socesfar.es.
  • DEADLINE for abstract submission is June 5 14, 2024. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered for the meeting.
  • The presenting author does not need to be the first author, but must be a listed author and his/her name underlined. Only oneabstract for presenting author will be allowed.
  • Each registration will allow, additionally, an abstract on the Teaching Pharmacology section.
  • The presenting author of an accepted abstract must register and pay to attend the Congress by July 1,2024, otherwise the abstract will not be published.
  • After having submitted your abstract, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. If not, please contact us, we will double-check if your submission has been received correctly.
  • No changes to the submitted abstracts will be made by the Organization.

Instructions for authors

Abstracts must be written in English and sent in the template available in the meeting webpage. Abstracts lacking the requested format will not be accepted for evaluation. Once accepted, both oral presentation or poster will be in English.
Send in the Abstract form.

TITLE: Title should be brief and clearly indicate the content of the abstract.

AUTHORS:

  • Name and surnames for every author must be provided. In the following format: Name Surname; E.g.: John Smith.
  • Do not include degrees or titles. The name of the presenting author should be underlined in the abstract form. An author’s name appearing on more than one abstract must be identical in every case.
  • The authors, mainly young researchers, can place their CV in QR format close to their names in the poster.

AFFILIATIONS:

  • Each author should be listed by institution, city, and country.
  • Do not include department, division, laboratory, etc.
  • In abstracts where the authors have different affiliations, please indicate for each author the number of the corresponding affiliation.

TEXT:

  • It should not exceed one page including tables which must be in text format (not graphic format), references, and acknowledgements
  • Abstracts will be reproduced exactly as submitted and will not be edited in any way.
  • Abbreviations should be kept to a minimum. Use standard abbreviations and generic drug names. Place unusual abbreviations or acronyms in parentheses after first use.
  • Do NOT identify author(s) or institution(s) in text. Make the abstract as informative as possible. Conclusions must be supported by data.
  • If it is possible, use this structure (without the headings):
    ·   Background
    ·   Material and methods
    ·   Results
    ·   Conclusions

TOPICS

When you submit an abstract, select the topic of the list in page 2 of the Abstract form.

Presentation

  • A limited number of abstracts will be selected for Short Oral Presentations (10 min presentation + 5 min) within some selected symposia.
  • Presenting authors will be required to register for the meeting.
  • Presentation details (session, date, time and format) will be sent with the notification of acceptance to the authors. 

Guidelines for Presentation

Authors must upload their presentations in advance in the Audiovisual Preview Room.

Poster Size

Posters should have a size of 80 x 110 cm (w x h)

Accepted abstracts

  • registration fee before July 15, 2024 to confirm their inclusion in the programme. If the presenting author of the abstract does not register by this date, the abstract will be removed from the programme.
  • Requests for substitute co-author presenters after the abstract submission deadline must be sent to: socesfar@socesfar.es
  • Programme listings and abstracts may be published in digital format via the conference website.
